What to say about one's self is always tough, but more so when
you colour in for a living!
My early years involved climbing electric fences, taunting medium sized
dogs, and alot of doodling on napkins (when other children were learning
to write their own names). When I turned fifteen, I found a paying outlet
for my sketches, and became the political cartoonist for the local rag.
The quest for higher education (but mostly higher pay packets!) spurred
me towards the giddy heights of the esteemed Wellington Polytechnic's
School of Design, where in 1993, I graduated with a Diploma in Visual
Communications and Design. I have been a freelance illustrator on and
off for the last twelve years now (I was a pub manager for a wee time
in the UK you see), and love what I do.
I have worked for many people, some of my favorites being Irish. My year
spent illustrating in Dublin during 2001 was a good time. Great for my
portfolio, yet bad for my liver!
I hope you find something in here that you like, or at least inspires
you some. Feel free to drop me a line, or if you're in the neighborhood,
buy me a drink!!
